The company produces diamonds using the ashes of a deceased loved one. This obviously poses some major hurdles in terms of both technological discovery and actual implementation. However, it shows just how important our loved ones really are. After all, Eterneva was created in part due to the founder’s loss of her friend to cancer. Adelle Archer was searching for a way to honor her friend while also dealing with the grief of her loss. This turned into the discovery of a way to create memorial diamonds. However, just creating a process isn’t the whole story. It takes a lot of funding to move from an idea to a sustainable business.
The company has been making rapid progress in that regard. They’ve recently raised a full $3 million for expansions to their company. It’s expected that this expansion will allow them to ramp up production to about 75 diamonds per year. This follows the initial relocation to a 4,000 foot office in South Austin which gave them access to an in-house diamond lab.
It’s clear that their diamonds offer a unique method to work through grief in a healthy way. The memorial diamonds offer a means to quite literally carry loved ones into the future. It helps people to celebrate a loved one’s life while still mourning their death. It’s clear that this healthier way of mourning can do a lot of good for the world. Likewise, it’s clear that Eterneva will keep innovating within this field. Learn more: https://phaneuf.net/eterneva-memorial-diamonds
